HL7 Format
The client forwards claim data directly from their Practice Management System. MedFi's technology architects work closely with clients to ensure that the HL7 formatted data is accurately imported into our claim management system. Claims are created in MedFi's billing system, routed to the appropriate payers and MedFi specialists pursue collection. MedFi provides a secure HIPAA compliant link to facilitate all data transfers.
Through Clearinghouse

MedFi receives a hospital generated electronic UB from a hospital's third party clearinghouse. Claims are routed to the appropriate payers and MedFi specialists pursue collection. MedFi provides a secure HIPAA compliant link to facilitate all data transfers.
MedFi is able to receive claim information as e-mail attachments. Acknowledging that e-mail is relatively insecure and not HIPAA compliant, we will work with our Partners and Clients to create mutually acceptable security solutions to protect data privacy. There are numerous security alternatives available. MedFi's preference is the use of Digital Certificates to create secure e-mail transmissions.
